You’ve got several options if you’re looking to stay in the neighborhood while watching World Cup games, which start on Thursday and go through July 13, including The Yard, 8313 Greenwood Ave. N., and The Dray, 708 NW 65th St., which is showing all the games live (check out their schedule).
Naked City Brewery & Taphouse, 8564 Greenwood Ave. N. is hosting free screenings for all the USA games, as well as a few other showpiece games and the finals.
Lantern Brewing, 938 N. 95th St., will be showing select games, including Thursday’s home opener.
The Angry Beaver, 8412 Greenwood Ave. N., will show all the games.
Prost!, 7311 Greenwood Ave. N., will show all the USA and Germany matches, while its sister restaurant across the street, Hecho, at 7314 Greenwood Ave. N., will show all the USA and Mexico matches.
The 74th St. Alehouse is showing all the 12 p.m., 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. games with sound. They’ll be open early for some of the games. Check their Facebook page for updated match schedules.
The Phinney Neighborhood Association, 6532 Phinney Ave. N., is once again turning its Community Hall in the Brick Building into a public viewing experience with a 14-foot-by-8-foot screen to show 40+ matches live. Admission is free but donations are gladly accepted (suggested donation is $3 for adults, $2 for kids, or $10 for a family of four or more). At least one food truck will be at every game. Every event is all-ages, and there’s even childcare provided on June 21-22. Check the schedule for the full list of food trucks and which games will feature a face painter.
